Cold Slow Down

Event Start Date: 2022/12/29

2022/12/29

Thursday was probably the best day both temperature and fish wise. As the weekend approached the artic blast came in hard. We had temperatures in the teens on the beach. As expected, the water temperature dropped significantly. At least the water stayed clean. There was no bait.

Whiting were the most common fish caught and that occurred early mornings and late afternoons. A few Flounder were caught too. Most were under size, but anglers did take home a couple of keepers. Sheepshead were gathered around the pilings and Geovani was the only one to put one on the deck.

Daily activity:

Thursday: - Flounder and Whiting - water temp 64.4 – 64.4

Friday:  – water temp 64.4 – 59.7

Saturday: water temp 59.7 – 58.3

Sunday: water temp 58.3 – 58.8

Monday: A few Whiting - water temp 58.8 – 60.3

Tuesday: Whiting, a couple of small Flounder, a Sheepshead - water temp 59.9 – 59.2

Wednesday: Flounder – water temp 59.2
